I had an interesting conversation with some of my mentors during the dinner at Rock Road Seafood last night.  It was fun and there are always new things to learn from the ‘old men’ all the time.

Somewhere in the conversation we touched on China kids. One of my mentor, Dr. Ting suddenly reminded everyone that most of the kids in the city grown up without siblings- one child policy. But have you ever thought that, most of them also without extended family like Uncle, Aunty, and Cousin? There is always 1 line in the family tree since the implementation of 1 Child Policy in China. So the kids only have friends to play with in their childhood. I understand that the terrible population explosion in China is difficult to deal with, but the kids in China really miss out the joys of having extended family.Having said that, family in the rural area of China still allowed to have more than 1 kid for the obvious reason, they need more people to help out in the agriculture works.

I was then joking if the 1 Child policy continue to be implemented, then India will have a very good chance to catch up with the population of China. But the fact is, India does have a very high fatality rate because of the poor economy. Do you not notice that there are LOTS of kids begging on the street in India? Hope this remind you of Slumdog Millionaire.

Another interesting point of view from another wise man, Dr. Yap- Do you know that the kids in China is taken care full time by 6 people? Then who are the 6 people? They are the grandparents (both father’s and mothers’ side) and also their parents. Wow…. Do you want to be a China kid then?

Just something to share with my readers here. If you are Chinese residing outside China, count yourself very lucky:)

The expanding and development of China has really changed the whole world in the recent years. Whatever you want, you can get it there. That is why they call China as World Factory. You may not have to be present there to do your shopping nowadays because you can easily buy from Alibaba.com (for bulk) or many other websites. I do have a friend named Joshua (fellow Malaysian) who owns a company in China selling Chinese made goods online to the whole world! And he is making a fortune! Check out his site www.tradetang.com. If this still doesn’t arouse your interest  in online business, then you may end up buying online all the time instead of enjoy part of the online fortune.

So China…Where is Your Uncle!! For them, the one giving them the Money is the Uncle now!
